This is a brass high button show standing on an oval, scalloped base.

I think it must have been a type of trade sign.

It is shiny on one side, with raised buttons and a ruffle around them, and flat black on the back.

5 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 1 1/2' wide.

Dating from the late 1800s.
